I’m Erica Lorraine, a Design Principal devoted to the intersections of human-centered design, human factors, and innovation. My work lives where empathy meets intelligence: translating complex systems into experiences that feel intuitive, safe, and deeply human.

Of all the methods available to designers, I believe storytelling is the most powerful.

At MD Anderson, I serve as an Innovation Human Factors Principal, shaping how clinicians and patients engage with intelligent systems such as artificial intelligence, robotics, futuristic concepts. I also advise on the Environmental Standards Council for the Center for Health Design, guiding the evolution of evidence-based environments.

Previously, I’ve designed for Techstars, crafted product experiences for MSK, and shaped healing spaces as a Medical Planner and Architectural Designer with Perkins Eastman. In my off-hours, you’ll find me prototyping with new software, creating 3D illustrations, 3D printing, or eating Stroop Waffle Cookies and watching Netflix.
